FERDINAND SIGNS LOAN DEAL

31 October 2013

Kane arrives at Sixfields

Northampton Town have signed Peterborough United midfielder Kane Ferdinand on a month's loan.

The 21 year old, 6ft 1in midfielder started his career at Southend United, making 70 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

He moved to Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee and made 16 starts and 17 substitute appearances in the Championship in 2012/13.

Ferdinand does have permission to play in the FA Cup.

“Kane is a very attack minded player who can play anywhere in midfield,” said boss Aidy Boothroyd.

“He’s someone we’ve been watching for a while and he will bring more energy to the midfield.

“I know the priority is to bring in another centre forward but if you can’t get the one that you want and you have got to wait a little bit of time to get the one that you want then you have got to add goals in other ways.

“If we can bring another centre forward in next week then we will try and do that, Jacob Blyth is back training again now with Leicester and we just want to make sure that he is fully fit before doing anything.”
